Deposit & Cancellation policy
At Moonlit PMU, appointment times are reserved specifically for you. Because permanent makeup services require significant preparation, design time, and schedule blocking, deposits and cancellation policies help protect both your appointment time and the studio schedule.
deposit
A nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve all appointments. Your deposit is applied toward the total investment of your service and secures your scheduled appointment. If you cancel or reschedule outside of the terms outlined in this policy, your deposit will be forfeited as specified below.
rescheduling
When proper notice is provided:
- Your deposit may be transferred to your new appointment.
- Your rescheduled appointment must take place within 3 months of the original appointment date.
- Any additional reschedule after the first approved reschedule requires a new deposit.
Cancellations & LATE RESCHEDULES
This includes:
- 48 hours or more: One reschedule is permitted and the deposit may be transferred according to the rescheduling policy above.
- Less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours: The deposit is forfeited.
- 24 hours or less but more than 2 hours: 50% of the scheduled service investment is due. Any deposit already paid will be applied toward this amount, and the remaining difference will be charged.
- 2 hours or less before the appointment: 100% of the scheduled service investment is due.
- No-show: 100% of the scheduled service investment is due.
PREPAID PACKAGES
For purposes of cancellations, late reschedules, and no-shows, fees are calculated using the standard individual investment of the service scheduled, rather than the discounted price or allocation of the package.
- 48 hours or more: One reschedule is permitted in accordance with the standard rescheduling policy.
- Less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours: $100 of the package value allocated to the appointment is forfeited.
- 24 hours or less but more than 2 hours: 50% of the service's standard individual investment is forfeited.
- 2 hours or less before the appointment: 100% of the service's standard individual investment is forfeited.
- No-show: 100% of the service's standard individual investment is forfeited.
If the applicable cancellation amount exceeds the remaining value attributable to that package appointment, the outstanding amount must be paid before any remaining package appointments may be scheduled or redeemed.
Package cancellation amounts do not create a cash balance or credit toward another service.
Packages are nontransferable and may not be shared with another person
Existing permanent makeup
Clients are responsible for disclosing any previous permanent makeup before booking. Undisclosed previous work may prevent an appointment from being safely completed or may require correction or removal rather than the originally scheduled service.
If an appointment cannot be performed because previous permanent makeup was not disclosed, the deposit remains nonrefundable and the applicable cancellation terms may apply.
Touch ups & perfecting sessions
Permanent makeup is a multi-session process. Most clients should expect to need a perfecting session after their initial appointment to refine shape, saturation, symmetry, or healed retention.
Long-term maintenance appointments are also normal and help keep results looking soft, defined, and balanced over time.
Perfecting, touch-up, and maintenance appointments are subject to the same cancellation and rescheduling terms outlined in this policy.
late arrivals
Arriving late may shorten your appointment or prevent the service from being completed safely within the remaining appointment time.
If your appointment must be canceled or rescheduled because of your late arrival, the cancellation terms applicable at the time of the scheduled appointment may apply, up to and including the full scheduled service investment.
emergency exceptions
True emergencies may be considered on a case-by-case basis at Moonlit PMU's discretion. An exception made on one occasion does not waive this policy or guarantee an exception for any future appointment.
Repeated late cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows may result in booking restrictions or Moonlit PMU declining future appointments.
REFUNDS & PROCESSING FEES
When a payment or portion of a payment is otherwise eligible for a refund, the refundable amount will be issued less the actual nonrefundable payment-processing fees incurred by Moonlit PMU in connection with the transaction.
Payment-processing fees are separate from any deposit or cancellation amount retained under this policy and will not exceed the actual nonrefundable processing fees incurred by Moonlit PMU. Square fees can be found here
Refunds will be returned to the original payment method whenever possible. Processing times after a refund is initiated are determined by the payment processor and the client's financial institution.

By booking an appointment or purchasing a service or package with Moonlit PMU, you acknowledge that you have had access to, reviewed, and agree to this Deposit, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
