eyeliner pre-care

Treat this like a self-care ritual. Soft music, lots of water, a calm night before — your skin respond best when your body is relaxed and nurtured.

Create the Perfect Canvas for Timeless Eyes

Your eyes are the windows to your soul — and your permanent eyeliner will enhance their natural beauty with effortless elegance. But before the pigment touches your lash line, your skin needs to be calm, healthy, and prepped with care.

Here’s how to prepare for the smoothest application, minimal sensitivity, and lasting results.

Beforehand

contact lenses

Bring a contact lens case and saline solution to remove your contact lenses for the procedure. Or simply wear your glasses to your appointment

no lash extensions

Please have all lash extensions removed at least 3 days prior to your appointment. Lashes can interfere with the procedure, and adhesives may cause irritation or uneven results.

LASH SERUMS

Send your lash serum name and ingredients before booking. Prostaglandin-based products such as Latisse differ from peptide conditioners. Timing depends on the product and your eye health. Do not stop prescribed eye medication without your prescriber’s advice.

pause eye treatments

Have lash extensions removed at least 3 days before your eyeliner appointment. Allow at least 2 weeks after lash lifts or tints, and contact me if your eyes or eyelids remain irritated.

contact lens wearers

Please wear glasses to your appointment. You may resume wearing contacts after a few days, once any swelling subsides.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours. Only pause blood-thinning medicines or supplements with your prescriber’s approval.

Healthy, relaxed skin tends to heal more comfortably and retain pigment more evenly. Drink plenty of water, get good rest, and treat the days before your appointment like intentional self-care.

frequently asked questions

How should I prepare my eyes before my eyeliner appointment?

Proper eyeliner tattoo pre care begins with keeping the eye area calm and healthy before your appointment. Avoid sunburn, irritation, or introducing new skincare products near the eyes in the week beforehand. Arrive with clean eyes and lashes, free of makeup, creams, or lash glue so your skin is ready for treatment and safe eyeliner tattoo preparation.

Should I stop using lash serums or active skincare?

Send your lash serum name and ingredients for review. Prostaglandin-based products differ from peptide conditioners. Avoid retinol and exfoliating acids near the eyes for 7 days. Ask your prescriber before changing prescribed products.

Can I wear contacts or eye makeup to my appointment?

Avoid wearing eye makeup to your appointment if possible. If you wear contact lenses, bring your glasses so you can remove the lenses before treatment. Contacts can usually be worn again once the eyes feel comfortable after healing, following proper eyeliner PMU pre care guidelines.

Should I avoid caffeine, alcohol, or blood thinners beforehand?

For 24 hours before your appointment, avoid alcohol and caffeine. Only pause non-essential blood-thinning medicines or supplements with your clinician’s approval. Never stop prescribed or medically necessary medication without your prescriber’s advice.

What if I have sensitive eyes or allergies?

Sensitive or watery eyes are common and can still be treated safely. Let us know about any allergies, sensitivities, or eye conditions ahead of time so your appointment can be adjusted for comfort. Avoid scheduling your procedure during an active eye irritation or allergy flare if possible.

Can I get eyeliner PMU if I recently had Botox or eye treatments?

It is best to wait about 2 weeks after Botox or injections around the eyes before getting eyeliner PMU so the area is stable. If you plan Botox afterward, waiting about 2 weeks after your eyeliner appointment allows the skin time to heal first as part of responsible eyeliner tattoo pre care planning.

What if I recently had LASIK or other eye surgery?

If you recently had LASIK or another eye procedure, it is best to wait until your eyes are fully healed and cleared by your eye doctor before getting permanent eyeliner. Most clients wait at least 6 to 8 weeks, though your surgeon may recommend longer depending on healing. Following proper pre care instructions for permanent eyeliner helps ensure comfort, safety, and stable results.
